Beach Trip

There's something about putting your toes in the sand that seems to be the most relaxing thing in the world.  When you are at the beach, it's just a different mentality with a slower pace and focus on family.  When Brody was born in June '10,  we decided to push our beach trip back as late as possible so that he would be a little older so we ended up going in late September.  Since then we have planned all of our trips for that time.  The weather is perfect (not too hot to enjoy it but hot enough to swim), the crowds are smaller, and it is mainly just families with toddlers. This year was by far my favorite since Brody was at an age where he could actually enjoy the beach and ocean.  He also enjoyed go carts, bumper cars and boats, rides at Pier Park, and a speedboat dolphin tour. Danny and I are so thankful for  my parents taking us on such a great vacation and giving us a date night while we were there! We drove my dad's convertible (see even at almost 30 you still want to drive your parents' car...) and ate at a restaurant on the water followed by a movie at the theatre and ended the night with homemade ice cream. I'll let the pictures tell the story of a great week!

We began each day with beach time, pool time, lunch, then nap for B (while Danny let me stay on the beach- 2 hours daily of kid free beach bumming!), an early dinner followed by something fun like go carts or amusement park rides.

I think B ate more sugar this week than he has all year combined. 

Can't wait for next year when we will have a 3 year old and 9 month old...seems crazy to even think about!
