For some crazy reason, Brody really likes his doctor's office. I think he just likes flirting with all the nurses and doctors! He is always in the best mood when we get there and charms all of them. However, usually by the end, he is ready to get out of the tiny patient room. He loves sitting on the scale and he looks so big on it now! He weighed 29lbs (80th percentile) and was 34in long (90th percentile). This picture cracks me up because look at what he is showing the nurse- he ALWAYS does this when his shirt is off!
His schedule has remained pretty consistent over the past few months. He is down to one nap a day (1:30-3:45 or 4) and sleeps from 8:30-8:30 at night. He still wakes up playing happily in his crib after his nap and in the morning. He is almost done with teeth for now as his top eye teeth cut through last week and the bottom ones are almost in. He eats like a champ and his favorites right now are yogurt, bananas, oatmeal, veggie straws, carrots, and spaghetti. He always just eats what we are eating and so far is not very picky. In the picture below, he is eating chicken chili which is pretty spicy! About a week ago, he had a rough week and refused most foods- I am thankful he is back to eating!
He is 100% little boy! He loves to be outside and the rougher you play with him, the harder he laughs. We ate at Cracker Barrel the other night and out of all the toys, he picked the gun. He was holding it up saying bang! (Danny swears he didn't teach him that, but I don't believe him!) With all that "boyness" comes one big strong will! I know that God created this little spirit and he is fearfully and wonderfully made, but whew strong will is tough in a toddler! I pray that God will use that strong will him in one day to make him a strong man of God. I pray that Danny and I will direct his personality and discipline him in a way that does not squelch his spirit, but lays a strong foundation from right and wrong. And that we don't lose our minds in the process...lol!
I love this look...he's like "what are you talking about, Mom..I'm always an angel..." :)
Language is starting to really kick in with Brody and he talks up a storm. He loves to ask us what things are (even when he knows them). He doesn't use any sign language anymore and will repeat almost anything you say. He has moved into two word phrases this month like "lets go, milk please, bye bye dada, etc. His favorite word is "moon" and he looks for it all the time. He was even looking for it at Chick-Fil-A inside today!
He loves to have friends over and loves going to his friends' houses as well. We have been truly blessed with a great group of friends who all have kids close in age. It is so much fun watching them all grow and learn together! We have really been working on teaching Brody to "clean up" this month and he is getting pretty good at it! Unfortunately, he is just like his mom and is easily distracted. He'll be cleaning and then get completely side tracked once he sees a toy that he hasn't played with in awhile.
Just this week, Danny and I started talking about preschool options in the Fall or Spring. How can it already be time for that??? Brody is growing so fast so we are trying to just soak it all in! Happy 18 months, B!!
