It's a....

When we found out we were pregnant with Brody we knew we wanted to find out if we were having a boy/girl, but we waited until the 20 week anatomy scan and found out in our doctor's office together.  We thought we would be a little more creative this time and opted for the gender scan our OB offers at 16 weeks.  Instead of finding out at the appointment we had the ultrasound tech place the pictures in an envelope and took the envelope over to our friend, Melissa's, house. She was so sweet to bake cupcakes for us covered in blue and pink icing with a surprise on the inside that would tell us the gender.  The four hours between the ultrasound and the big reveal seemed to take FOREVER, but the anticipation was fun, too! We have prayed for a healthy a baby and would be equally excited either way, we were just ready to know!

Brody is all about a cupcake so it didn't take much to get him to cooperate. :)  He had no clue what was going on, but he was just happy to get a sweet treat!

Normally he dives into cupcakes, but he kept taking tiny bites! 

I couldn't stand it any longer and popped it open to find the PINK hidden on the inside! Danny and I both felt like we were having another boy so we were shocked and so excited to find out we are having a GIRL!

We feel so blessed and so thankful to the Lord for giving us an amazing little boy and now a sweet girl on the on way! I think Brody will be such a great big brother and love his little sister so much.

Now it's on to picking a name (we are pretty close to having that one nailed down), decorating a nursery, turning Brody's room into a big boy room, and shopping for smoked dresses and huge bows...after all, this is the south.  

Sharing the news with these girls who are like sisters to me. They already love on Brody like crazy and know they will do the same with our baby girl! Thanks Melissa for keeping a big secret and making the most favorite cupcakes I have ever bitten into! :)
